Today at our Duffy assembly a woman named Niva Retimanu came to our school to tell us about herself. She lived in Samoa until she moved to Invercargill. Her dad would take her and her siblings to the library and that is when she learnt how to read. When she grew up she wanted to be a reporter but she ended up studying to become a news announcer because radio people told her that she has an unusual voice. She told us that in her house she has over 500 books and her motto is “Its cool to read, its cool to achieve.
